The University of Manitoba (U of M in short), in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, is the largest university in the province of Manitoba. It is Manitoba’s most complete and only research-intensive post-secondary educational institution. It was founded in 1877 and it was Western Canada’s first university. The remaining buildings contain laboratories, administrative and service offices, residences, or are the property of research agencies.

In a typical year, the university has an enrolment of approximately 27,000 students – 24,000 undergraduate and 3,000 graduate. Utah State University (USU) is a public university, located in Logan, Utah. It is land-grant institution and is accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities.

Founded in 1888 as Utah ‘s agricultural college, the university now offers 176 bachelor’, s-degrees, 97 master’s degrees and 38 doctoral degrees. It is organized into eight colleges at its Logan campus and five regional campus exercises (Brigham City, Tooele, Uintah Basin, Price and San Juan), and several training centers and offices in Utah.

Utah State University operates throughout the State of Utah through Regional Campuses and Distance Education (RCDE) and Cooperative Extension. Together, the University provides education throughout Utah at one of the education centers or regional campuses and worldwide through Distance Education.

The Regional Campuses and Distance Education (RCDE) system works to fulfill USU’s land-grant mission to increase access to a high quality education. Part of this includes accepting nearly all applicants to attend one of its campuses, if not the main campus in Logan. Beyond Logan, USU provides academic resources and support throughout the state. The McMaster University (commonly referred as McMaster or Mac) is a general research university whose main campus in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. The main campus is on 121 hectares of botanical (300 acres) of land in the residential neighborhood of Westdale, next to Hamilton ‘s royal gardens. The university can run six academic faculties: engineering, health science, humanity, social science, science and the DeGroote School of Business. It is a member of the U15, a group of research-intensive universities in Canada.

The university bears the name of Honourable William McMaster, a prominent Canadian Senator and banker who bequeathed C$900,000 to the founding of the university. McMaster University was incorporated under the terms of an act of the Legislative Assembly of Ontario in 1887, merging the Toronto Baptist College with Woodstock College. It opened in Toronto in 1890. Inadequate facilities and the gift of land in Hamilton prompted the institution to relocate in 1930. McMaster was controlled by the Baptist Convention of Ontario and Quebec until it became a privately-chartered, publicly-funded non-denominational institution in 1957.

The university is co-educational, and has nearly 23,000 undergraduate and over 3,500 post-graduate students. Alumni and former students of the university can be found all across Canada and in over 120 countries around the world. The McMaster athletic teams are known as the Marauders, and are members of the Canadian Interuniversity Sport.

The University of Western Ontario (generally referred to as Western or UWO) is a general research university whose main campus in London, Ontario, Canada. The university’s main campus covers 455 hectares (1,120 acres) of land, with the Thames River cut through the eastern part of the main campus. West exerts its programs from 12 different faculties and schools. West has a wide variety of academic programs between twelve faculties, vocational schools and three universities linked.

The university was founded as the The Western University of London Ontario, a demonimational school of the Church of England, by Bishop Isaac Hellmuth and the Anglican Diocese of Huron. The university became secular in 1908 and was given its present name in 1923. The university has over 23,000 undergraduate and over 5,000 graduate students. More than 220,000 alumni and former students of Western can be found in over 100 countries around the world. The Western varsity athletic teams are known as the Western Ontario Mustangs, and are members of the Canadian Interuniversity Sport.

Portland State University (PS) is a municipal university in the general condition, which is located in downtown Portland, Oregon, United States. Founded in 1946, it has the largest total enrollment of any university in the state of Oregon, including undergraduate and graduate students. It is also the only public university in the state that is in a major metropolitan city. Portland State is a part of the Oregon university system.
